Banyan East Town Earns Silver Florida Green Home Certification

ree

At AGPM, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a commitment we build into every community from the ground up. We’re proud to announce that Banyan East Town has officially earned a Silver Florida Green Home Certification from the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC)—a testament to our team’s hard work, thoughtful planning, and long-term vision for environmentally responsible living.

What Is the Florida Green Building Coalition?

The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) is a nonprofit organization that developed the state’s only voluntary green building certification programs. Their “Florida Green” standards were created specifically to address the state’s unique climate, resiliency needs, and environmental concerns. Each certification is earned through a rigorous, science-based point system—verified by independent, third-party experts through on-site inspections.

Projects that go above and beyond the baseline certification level are awarded Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum status, with Silver recognizing communities that meet or exceed core sustainability benchmarks.

What Makes Banyan East Town a Silver-Certified Community?

Achieving Silver certification means Banyan East Town satisfied a wide range of requirements designed to promote energy efficiency, health, and environmental stewardship. Some of the sustainable features contributing to our certification include:

  • Photovoltaic solar infrastructure that powers common area HVAC systems, lighting, and utilities

  • Energy Star-rated appliances in all residential units

  • High-SEER HVAC equipment that reduces energy consumption

  • Low-flow water fixtures in bathrooms and kitchens to conserve water

  • Carefully chosen building materials and design standards to meet or exceed HERS Index requirements—this includes insulation, flooring, ceiling styles, door types, and more

Our team also met essential prerequisites around:

  • Landscape and water site management

  • Native tree preservation and sustainable design

  • Health and safety measures like moisture and combustion control

  • Disaster mitigation strategies, ensuring our homes are designed to withstand Florida’s toughest weather challenges

A Commitment to Future-Forward Living

This certification is more than a plaque on the wall. It represents AGPM’s promise to our residents, our partners, and our planet: to design and maintain communities that are not only beautiful and functional but built to last—with a reduced environmental footprint.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this achievement—and we look forward to continuing our mission of building communities that thrive.
