Building communities where people can live safely and affordably is at the heart of what we do. On Friday, January 31st, 2025, we proudly celebrated the completion of Fern Grove Apartments, Orlando’s newest affordable housing community for seniors.

This project was made possible through the partnership of AGPM and BDG, with BDG leading the development and construction and AGPM proudly managing the community to ensure residents have a safe, supportive, and high-quality living environment.

We want to extend our sincere gratitude to Mayor Dyer, Congressman Frost, Commissioner Rose, the Orlando City Council, and the City of Orlando for their partnership and support in making this project a reality. With the city's investment of $1.3 million, we were able to bring 138 much-needed one- and two-bedroom affordable housing units to seniors aged 55 and up who earn at or below 70% of the Area Median Income.

We believe that affordable housing should offer more than just a place to live—it should provide a sense of community and security. That’s why Fern Grove Apartments includes essential services such as literacy and computer training, 24-hour urgent support, and assistance with daily tasks like housekeeping, grocery shopping, and laundry.

We are grateful to the City of Orlando for its commitment to expanding affordable housing opportunities and look forward to continuing to work together to create communities that allow residents to live with dignity, stability, and peace of mind.

The 138 affordable homes at Fern Grove Apartments feel especially meaningful alongside practical help with grocery shopping and laundry. Literacy and computer training also stand out, since having access to technology can open up everyday interests and connections. I recently came across sprunki phase 17, which made me think about how those computer sessions could leave room for residents to explore their own interests. Will residents help shape what the training covers?

Fern Grove Apartments bringing 138 affordable homes to Orlando seniors is encouraging, especially with practical help for grocery shopping and laundry included. The literacy and computer training caught my attention too; learning to navigate online interests, even a game title like the freak circus that I recently came across, can be part of feeling more confident with technology. I hope residents have plenty of opportunities to shape those classes around their own interests.

Fern Grove's combination of computer training and everyday assistance, including grocery shopping, makes the community's practical support easy to understand. A beginner session could use a small creative exercise to explain uploading an image, reading settings, and saving a file. Raindance AI offers one example for discussing animated images and clearly labeling generated media. Large, readable instructions and an option to observe first would help make the activity approachable for people with different levels of digital familiarity.

Congratulations on opening Fern Grove Apartments. Bringing 138 affordable housing units to seniors in Orlando is a big deal, and I like that the plan goes beyond a place to live with literacy and computer training on site. Gentle hobbies matter for residents too; a browser sewing game like https://dressmaker.pro/ could be a fun way to practice those new computer skills. Wishing everyone at Fern Grove a happy start.
