Building communities where people can live safely and affordably is at the heart of what we do.
On Friday, January 31, 2025, we proudly marked a major milestone: the grand opening of Fern Grove Apartments, Orlando’s newest affordable housing community for seniors. This event wasn't just a ribbon-cutting—it was a celebration of collaboration, commitment, and care for older adults in our community.
About Fern Grove
Fern Grove Apartments offers 138 affordable one- and two-bedroom units for seniors aged 55+ who earn at or below 70% of the Area Median Income. The community provides a safe, stable environment for older adults to live with dignity and peace of mind.
Made possible by the partnership between AGPM and BDG, this development stands as a model of how public-private collaboration can deliver meaningful impact. BDG led the development and construction, while AGPM proudly manages the community with a mission to ensure residents have access to quality housing and supportive services.
The Tree House Foundation: Supporting More Than Housing
A unique and impactful element of Fern Grove is our partnership with the Tree House Foundation, whose mission aligns perfectly with ours: to support multi-generational well-being through direct services and community-building programs.
Through Tree House’s involvement, Fern Grove residents benefit from:
Donated essentials like clothing, toiletries, and household goods
Ongoing programs that encourage community connection, skill-building, and engagement
Housing assistance and advocacy that ensures no resident is left behind
Their presence reminds us that affordable housing isn’t just about shelter—it’s about quality of life.
Gratitude to Our Partners
We extend heartfelt thanks to the City of Orlando, the Orlando City Council, and our many supporters. The city’s investment of $1.3 million was instrumental in making this development a reality. This commitment reflects a broader effort to expand housing access for those who need it most.
We are honored by the support of local leaders, including:
Mayor Buddy Dyer
Congressman Maxwell Frost
Commissioner Regina Hill
And all community stakeholders who believe in the power of safe, affordable housing
Looking Ahead
Fern Grove is now fully leased, but its story is just beginning. This community is a living example of what’s possible when we come together with a shared goal: to build places where people can thrive—not just live.
We invite you to watch the video, celebrate with us, and continue the conversation about building more communities like Fern Grove—places that honor aging, provide support, and offer true belonging.
