The PMCFI company was formed in 2000 to provide multifamily fee management services for primarily for affordable rental apartment communities. The initial focus was on the lease-up of newly constructed rental communities and the renovation and turnaround of troubled communities.

In 2004, the Louis Vogt and Scott Zimmerman owned management company PMCFI merged its 7,000 units with Reliance Management services and its 8,000 units to form Banyan Realty Management (“Banyan”) with 15,000 combined units under third party management throughout the eastern US in partnership with the principals of Alliant Capital.

In 2005 Banyan admitted London investment partner Mountstreet Holdings affiliate in order to expand its operations. Banyan grew to over 25,000 units and assisted London with acquisitions of other US property management companies; i.e. Trammell Crow Residential Services, Omni Management, Stratus, to become Riverstone Residential; the country’s second largest apartment manager.

In 2007 the first GP portfolio acquisition was closed, consisting of 3,700 units followed by three additional portfolios bringing the total to approximately 7,000 units. The management company interest in CAS-Riverstone was sold in 2008 and AGPM formed in order to self-manage its owned portfolio.
